If Maryland does ban the practice it will join New Jersey, California, Oregon, Illinois, Vermont, New Mexico, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada and Washington in doing so.

Under current French law, refugees may be deported from France if their country of origin is on a designated safe list. The new amendment seeks to remove countries from this list if they have laws criminalising homosexuality.
