Breakout star YUNGBLUD has released his brand new single Strawberry Lipstick along with a suitably punk-filled music video.

The 22-year-old singer-songwriter appears alongside fellow musician Jesse Jo Stark in the rebellious visual, which sees him in the boxing ring in Union Jack shorts, stuffing strawberries in his mouth, and slipping into a sparkling Union Jack dress that will have Ginger Spice raising an eyebrow.

The track was co-produced by YUNGBLUD with his longtime collaborators Chris Greatti (Poppy, Grimes) and Zakk Cervini (Bishop Briggs, Machine Gun Kelly), and a riotous ode to love.

With lyrics like “they’re gonna lock me in a closet but I’m coming out, singing fuck all this oppression and this self-doubt” we’re fully on-board with this rock-infused anthem.

Strawberry Lipstick has been lifted from YUNGLBLUD’s highly-anticipated second studio album, which is expected later this year.

It also comes ahead of the star’s new graphic novel, The Twisted Tales of the Ritalin Club Volume 2: Weird Times at Quarry Banks University, which will be released in November.

YUNGBLUD has emerged as one of Britain’s most exciting new talents since his debut album 21st Century Liability back in 2018.

Earlier this year he was shortlisted on the prestigious BBC Sound of 2020 and has already won numerous awards for his music.
