Trixie Mattel has released a brand new music video for her song Little Sister.
While many of her RuPaul’s Drag Race peers release parody singles or tracks based on catchphrases, Trixie has established herself as a serious country musician, having described herself as a ‘musician first, drag queen second’ in the past.
Hot on the heels of her All Stars 3 win – where she beat off fierce competition from fellow competitors Kennedy Davenport, Shangela, and Bebe Zahara Benet – she’s released a brand new single and music video, except this time she’s back to basics and out of drag.
“Little Sister is a cautionary tale of being trapped in a small town. I have teenage sisters and this song is a reminder to think big and run fast,” she explained to NewNowNext of the concept behind the track.
“I get nervous delivering a sincere message, so I added this weird anxious guy to play harp for us and add some stupidity. Something about that afro and turtleneck just makes me laugh.”

The song is taken from her sophomore album One Stone, which follows 2017’s debut Two Birds, and is available to download and stream now.
