Hallå, hallå, hallå! World of Wonder has just announced the premiere date, host and judges for Drag Race Sweden/Sverige.

Premiering this March, the highly-anticipated new series joins existing formats in the franchise across Thailand, Chile, Canada, the UK, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Australasia, France, the Philippines, Italy and the US original.

Following in the footsteps of hosts such as RuPaul, Fred Van Leer, Priscilla, Paolo Ballesteros and Brooke Lynn Hytes will be actor and drag queen Robert Fux.

Sitting alongside Fux on the panel will be Farao Groth, stand-up comedian and radio/television host, and Kayo, the host of Fångarna på fortet (Fort Boyard) and winner of the Melodifestivalen with her band Afro-Dite.

In a statement, Fux said: “Farao and I are actually old friends. He is hysterically funny and knows a lot about drag.

“Kayo, who I had the pleasure of getting to know during the shoot, is incredibly glamorous and has an eye for genuine talent.

“Together, we will scrutinise our drag queens and make sure that the right queen takes home the crown.”

Kayo, a staple in Stockholm’s club scene, said of joining the series: “Nothing beats glitter, glamour and a tight corset! Drag Race is colorful and spectacular but also fun and sharp.

“I was actually surprised by the energy and determination of the queens. These are Sweden’s top drag artists and every single one of them really wants to win this. But there will be fierce competition for the crown.”

According to a press release from WOW Presents Plus, Farao “became obsessed with drag and his mother had to create costumes that he proudly displayed at school.

“At 12 years old he performed locally and at 14 he left Blekinge to practice with the drag performance group Cunigunda in Stockholm – a group consisting of, among others, Robert Fux.”

Farao praised Drag Race as “funny, intimate and human”.

“There are big personalities and strong destinies mixed with hot temperaments and winning skills,” he added. “This is something completely new and you get to open the door to an unknown, glittering world.”

Drag Race Sverige will premiere exclusively on the streamer of all things drag, WOW Presents Plus in the UK and internationally on Saturday 4 March at 8:30pm GMT. Untucked will air at 1:00am GMT on Sunday 5 March.

Following the premiere, new episodes will drop every Sunday at 1:00am GMT along with episodes of Untucked.
