Billie Eilish has announced the release date of her new single ‘What Was I Made For?’ that will feature on the ‘Barbie’ soundtrack.

Little is known about the track beyond the fact that it will come out on 13 July at 7am PT.

The cover art, unlike other promotional items for the moving, features no pink – instead showing the signature ‘B’ in black against a cream background.

“Notice how there is no pink in this because she is showing barbie’s dark side ohhh,” one fan speculated on social media.

Another added: “A sad song about Barbie’s existential crisis? She’s coming for that second Oscar.”

“Yup! We needed a sad song for Barbie for when she comes to terms with reality and human life! EYE get the vision,” a third said.

Details about the exact plot of the movie have been kept firmly under wraps.

“If you love Barbie, this movie is for you,” the film’s tagline reads. “If you hate Barbie, this movie is for you.”

Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Gerrera, Kate McKinnon and Issa Rae are among those starring in the live-action ‘Barbie’ film.

It is slated for a 21 July release and you can watch the trailer below or by clicking here.
