“Unbelievably stoked,” Terakes wrote on Instagram. “This one’s for the trans guys n girls n theys. So much love.”

The star joins the previously announced actress Dominique Thorne who is set to play Riri Williams, a genius inventor who has created the most advanced suit of armour since Iron Man.

In 2021, Eternals made history for the Marvel Cinematic Universe by including Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry), its first openly LGBTQ+ superhero.

The film also features Marvel’s first big screen queer couple.

Ironheart is expected to be released in 2023, though an exact date is yet to be confirmed.
