Dylan O’Brien’s brief appearance in the trailer for Fantasmas has ignited a passionate response online.

Back in February 2022, HBO greenlit the new six-episode series from Los Espookys co-creator Julio Torres.

At the time, Variety revealed that the show was tentatively titled Little Farms and would follow a fictional Julio as he searches New York City for his lost “little golden oyster”.

Since that fateful day, TV enthusiasts have eagerly awaited new information about the mysterious project.

Fortunately on 23 May, HBO finally dropped the first trailer for the upcoming series, now titled Fantasmas.

At the start of the teaser, Julio opens up to his doctor about seeing the world differently due to his past experience being struck by lightening.

However, in the middle of his explanation, an intercom announces that he only has 90 seconds left of his appointment, which creates an awkward moment between him and his doctor.

The scene then transitions to Julio opening up about his recurring dream where he can “feel the inner lives of shapes, colours, sounds and numbers”.

As the trailer progresses, various moments from Julio’s wacky adventure flash across the screen, which include O’Brien entering a room wearing red lingerie.

While the moment was very brief, it sent fans into an absolute frenzy, with many taking to social media to express their excitement.

One person on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: “Dylan O’Brien in red lingerie is doing ~things~ to me.”

Another fan echoed similar sentiments, writing: “DYLAN O’BRIEN IN LINGERIE??? New favorite show is about to drop.”

A third user added“Dylan O’Brien in lingerie was the perfect way to start my 5 day weekend!! That man knows what he does!!

As of this writing, information regarding O’Brien’s exact role is being kept under wraps.

However, TV viewers won’t have to wait too long to immerse themselves in the whimsical world of Fantasmas, with its premiere date set for 7 June.

An official synopsis for the series reads: “A fantastical six-part tale of when he lost a gold oyster earring. In his search to find the precious object, Julio reflects on the offbeat characters he encounters in introspective, often eerie, and always comedic vignettes set in a dreamy, alternate version of New York City.

“A kaleidoscope of color and surrealism, Fantasmas weaves together stories of people looking for meaning, purpose, and connection in an increasingly isolating world.”

In addition to Torres and O’Brien, the show’s star-studded cast includes Martine Gutierrez (Problemista), Tomas Matos (Fire Island), Alexa Demie (Euphoria), Bowen Yang (Wicked), Aidy Bryant (SNL), Julia Fox (Uncut Gems), Ziwe (The Great North) and Emma Stone (Poor Things), who also serves as executive producer alongside Dave McCary.
