Carly Rae Jepsen has released her highly anticipated seventh studio album, The Loveliest Time, and fans couldn’t be happier.

The record is a companion project to The Loneliest Time, which Carly released in October last year.

“At this point you know me so well that I won’t even tease about a b sides,” Carly wrote on Instagram on 6 July. “It’s almost disrespectful because you know that it’s coming. And in fact this is the time to announce that it’s here. It’s done and a month from now The Loveliest Time will be all yours. I can’t really call it a b sides as if these were cast off ideas – it’s the completed set to a body of work that taught me so much about love and loneliness and myself.”

She explained that, in contrast to The Loneliest Time, this release reflects how she felt after the world “opened itself back up again”.

“It’s time for celebration and for all the lessons we have learned to burst into joyful action,” Carly told fans.

“Carly Rae Jepsen gave us nothing but bangers!”

Since the release of The Loveliest Time on 28 July, fans have been taking to social media to share how much they love it.

“IT IS HER BEST ALBUM YET!” one stan wrote on Twitter. “PRODUCTION ON POINT, LYRICS EMOTIONALLY DEVASTATING AND INSANELY HORNY, HER VOCALS STELLAR AND THE SONGS ARE EXPERIMENTAL.”

A second described the record as “a fab wonky and weird album” that Carly probably felt like “a silly goose when she was making” in the best way possible.
