As you are probably well aware, we’re big fans of Emly Burns – and her latest single and music video doesn’t disappoint.
The British singer-songwriter has released Is It Just Me? as her second single since signing to major label Island Records earlier this year.
The ballad is Emily’s most heartfelt and vulnerable yet as it plays out of a delicate piano production.
“I think we all have that one person in our lives that we still think about, no matter how much time has passed and how far we have moved past the relationship,” explains Emily.
“The person that still appears in our thoughts at the strangest times. And when you hear their name mentioned, it still gives you that pit of the stomach dread and pain you felt as if it were yesterday that you broke up.
“This song is about that. Wondering if the other person still thinks about you too, or ‘Is It Just Me?’”
It follows the release of My Town earlier this year, following her run of headline shows and festival sets across the summer.
Is It Just Me? will feature of Emily’s forthcoming new EP – also titled My Town – which will be released on 20 November.
This is all leads to an even bigger year for Emily in 2020 as she heads back out on the road for a string of headline shows.
The star will start at Bristol’s Rough Trade on 25 April, and conclude at Brighton’s Green Door Store on 1 May.
The run will also feature a headline show at London’s iconic Dingwalls venue on 30 April.
