To mark the release of her high anticipated second studio album, Christine and the Queens will debut a film about the project exclusively on Apple Music.
The French singer-songwriter – real name Héloïse Letissier – explores life as a queer person on her second collection Chris, which also delves into ideas of masculinity and femininity, and her struggle to define a fractured personality.
“Identity is a constant construction, you have to reassess all the time and redefine it,” she explains. “Chris is actually me being comfortable in the mess.”
Apple Music Presents: Chris will take a look at the process the performance artist went through to create her new project.
What’s more, the star will introduce the very different personalities on Chris at a special one-night-only Apple Music concert in Paris on 13 September.
“Writing a record is like staging a huge play in my head,” she explains. “Every interesting situation in my life could lead to a number I could stage. For me, the stage is a safe space because there is a sense of acceptance there.”
Apple Music Presents: Chris will be available to stream on 14 September.
Her new album Chris will follow a week later on 21 September.
It serves as the follow-up to her fantastic debut Chaleur Humaine, which has sold over 1.3 million copies worldwide.
What’s more, Christine and the Queens will embark on a headline tour later this year, which includes two sold out shows at London’s Eventim Apollo on 20 and 21 November.
