Could we be any more excited for American Horror Story: 1984?

The upcoming ninth season of FX’s hit horror anthology series is set to debut on 18 September, but as usual we have pretty much no idea what to expect, aside from the assumption that at least some of it will take place in the 1980s.

The few teasers we’ve seen so far have pointed towards a summer camp theme, with a generic-looking slasher movie villain killing off unsuspecting high school archetypes – from the jock, to the dream girl, to the nerd, to the prankster and the stoner.

Another teaser has just been released which continues to point towards the 1980s horror vibes that we’ve seen so far, as we witness yet another victim – this time it’s the ‘nice guy’ – meet his end at the hands of the Jason Vorhees-esque masked villain.

Watch the new teaser below.

Just like the majority of the show’s promotional material, it’s wise to treat this clip with a bit of suspicion. Early teasers and posters for American Horror Story are usually ambiguous, and often end up having nothing to do with the final product.

It’s also worth pointing out that none of the announced cast members have appeared in the teasers so far.

Gus Kenworthy is set to make his acting debut in 1984, and will be joined by previous AHS stars such as Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, Leslie Grossman, as well as newcomers Matthew Morrison, DeRon Horton, Zach Villa and Angelica Ross.
