Calling all White Collar fans! A reboot is officially on the way.

Back in October 2009, the police procedural drama made its exciting debut on USA Network.

Set in New York City, the show follows con artist and thief Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer), who becomes an FBI consultant and teams up with special agent Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) to catch dangerous white-collar criminals.

In addition to Bomer and DeKay, the series featured Sex and the City’s Willie Garson, Saved by the Bell star Tiffani Thiessen, The Haunted Mansion’s Marsha Thomason and One Tree Hill’s Hilarie Burton.

Throughout its run, White Collar received rave reviews from fans and critics, with many praising the show’s immersive storylines, clever writing, and the dynamic performances of Bomer and DeKay.

Since its series finale in 2014, the show has continued to make waves with TV viewers, resulting in many calls for a reboot.

Even the show’s creator, Jeff Eastin, was on board with the idea, tweeting in May 2020 that he had plans to bring back the show.

“Had a great convo with @MattBomer. We have a plan to bring #WhiteCollar back,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Over the last few years, fans have anxiously waited for new information about White Collar’s highly anticipated return.

Fortunately, Bomer and Eastin confirmed that the production cogs were finally in motion during a mini-cast reunion at Variety’s TV Fest.

“We’re gonna reboot. I’m writing the script,” Eastin revealed before Bomer added, “I’m in.”

DeKay and Thiessen echoed similar sentiments, describing the script as “fantastic”.

“It answers all the questions that one would have if you watch the show, and it would introduce the show to those who haven’t seen it as well. Both edges of the sword are honed,” DeKay said.

“It honours Willie, too, in a profound way.”

Towards the end of their announcement, Thiessen added: “I told Jeff after I finished it, I literally was so excited, but at the same time had tears in my eyes – for good reason. You captured the suspense, the thrill, the characters and the love in that reboot.”

It didn’t take long for fans to express their excitement for the reboot, with many taking to social media to celebrate.

One person on X wrote: “I’m all about this. One of my favourite shows.”

A second fan added: “Yes! one of my favorite series. So underrated.”

A third person tweeted: “My favorite TV series is coming back OMG.”
