The first trailer for Ryan Murphy's upcoming drama The Shards has finally arrived.

Based on Bret Easton Ellis' autofictional horror novel of the same name, the upcoming series is set in 1980s Los Angeles and follows a 17-year-old Ellis during his final year at the prestigious Buckley Prep School.

While Bret and his close-knit group of friends are prepared to rule the school with an iron fist, their lives and ambitions are upended by the arrival of charismatic new student Robert Mallory and a terrifying series of murders committed by the mysterious serial killer known as The Trawler.
