Jessica Chastain has shared that she would be interested in playing Celia St. James in Netflix’s adaptation of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.

Speaking on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, the Golden Globe winner revealed she has been made aware of the eager fancasting around the fictional character.

Responding to a fan question, the actress replied: “I do know there’s an online thing about it.” Chastain later said Netflix can “send her a script” about the film.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, written by Taylor Jenkins Reid, has become beloved by readers online for its riveting storytelling and inventive plot.

The book, which lasted 54 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller Paperback list, follows the life of private legend Hollywood actress Evelyn Hugo, who chooses an unknown reporter, Monique Grant, to share her life story with the world.

The novel vividly captures Evelyn’s high life in the Golden Age of Hollywood, her rise to fame, and the stories behind her seven marriages.

Netflix announced Liz Tigelaar would be taking on the bestseller with Liza Chasin and Brad Mendelsohn producing the project.

Tigelaar is known for her Emmy-nominated Hulu limited series Little Fires Everywhere as well as work as as a showrunner and executive producer of Hulu’s Golden Globe-nominated comedy Casual.

Fans have been eager for updates on the Netflix production and have taken to the internet to cast their favourite stars as characters in the viral book.
