Frankie Carter has peeled back the curtain on his sexuality following his exit from Big Brother UK.

Back in September, the reality TV star made waves with BBUK viewers after he came out as bisexual during an emotional confessional.

"I've come on this show to come out, because I'm bisexual. I've been in pain for so long now, probably about a year and a half, two years," the 23-year-old tearfully confessed in the diary room.

"The guilt and the shame that I'm carrying from it, I feel like I've let down a lot of people... Some people might not want to be around me."

Following his tearful confession, Frankie gradually opened up about his sexuality to some of his fellow housemates.

While the BBUK fan base and his co-stars embraced Frankie, he also sparked confusion among a handful of viewers.

At the start of the season, the London native claimed he was single. However, a few weeks later, he revealed that he was still with his girlfriend, while sharing her reaction to his sexuality.

Beyond his relationship status, Frankie caused a stir when he said he would never be with a man while coming out to his cast mates, resulting in some fans accusing him of lying about his sexuality.

In the wake of his backdoor exit from the series, Frankie took to Instagram to share a "Big Brother Debrief" in which he addressed some of the rumors and criticism.

"Yo, how you doing? I got evicted from the Big Brother house; what an amazing experience. I've come on here to clear a few things up because I've seen a lot of rumours going around that are not necessarily true," he started.

Frankie went on to say his surname is actually Carter, not Taber, adding that he put it down but not as his last name.

"I hear everyone calling me Jay Cartwright about me having a girlfriend, but I do have a girlfriend, and we might do a little bit of a reveal, so that's to come," he continued.

"Also, I didn't lie about my sexuality. I think I was very open and very honest on there about my situation, and no, that wasn't a lie; all true. I'm not a terrible person like that. I'm not going to be going on TV and going in all about my sexuality, and it wasn't true; it was gameplay.

"A lot of people say I was gameplaying; no, not really, to be honest with you.... I think I just sort of got on with everybody, and I tried to keep out of arguments and drama. I didn't want to be going around shit stirring behind people's backs; it's just not really me. But yeah, what an amazing experience."

In addition to his Instagram post, Carter gave insight into his sexuality while appearing on Big Brother: The Group Chat with GK Barry and Kate Lawler.

When reflecting on his previous comment about never being with a man in the future, the reality TV star said: "I think it's more so the fact that I haven't come to terms with it yet. Even though I've come out, I'm still sort of coming to terms with it, and that's the reason why I said that.

"Maybe in a year, maybe in two years, maybe as I process the emotions a lot more, then that will change. But for now, I haven't fully come to terms with it still."

He also revealed that he initially kept his relationship with his girlfriend under wraps because he was unsure "what was going to happen when he came out on the show."
