If you’re a follower of musical theatre then the current revival of Jesus Christ Superstar is likely already on your radar. The much-loved musical has been lighting up the London Palladium in a celebrity-studded revival this summer, and will continue there until 5 September, before transferring to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane from 19 October. We’ve already been to check out this new production – starring Sam Ryder as Jesus, and featuring a range of well-known names taking the role of Herod throughout the run (at time of writing it’s currently the fabulous queer icon Layton Williams).

We recently caught up with the wonderful Tyrone Huntley, currently playing the lead role of Judas in the show, to find out a bit more about this new revival and his role in the musical. Judas is a very famous name, of course – not only is he the OG villain, he’s also a banging Lady Gaga tune. But for the uninitiated – what can Tyrone tell us about the role of Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar?
