Sinatra the Musical is a visual treat but the writing disappoints – review
We weren’t sold on the concept of the show, nor could we really work out who the show was for.

We were intrigued to see the West End debut of new show Sinatra the Musical given the talent involved in the production. The book is written by Tony-winning gay playwright Jo DiPietro, while the show is directed and choreographed by another Tony winner, Kathleen Marshall, who was responsible for the stunning routines we saw in the revival of Anything Goes at the Barbican a few years ago. Playing the lead role of Frank Sinatra is Joel Harper-Jackson, who we’ve seen in numerous queer shows: most recently as the titular Daniel in the moving Daniel’s Husband, and he memorably starred opposite Jonathan Bailey in the West End revival of seminal gay play Cock.
