Former Real Housewives of Orange County star Alexis Bellino has introduced fans to her 15-year-old trans son, Miles.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the former reality TV star opened up about her son’s journey with a lengthy caption.
“Hey world, this is Miles. My transgender son. He’s now a month shy of 15 yrs old, so he’s seen the questions and comments made about him on my IG,” she wrote alongside a sweet photo of the pair.
“Miles now has a voice and has asked me to do this post. I had stopped posting for the past few months due to this transition in Miles’ life, but he’s now ready to “come out” and to use this platform to stop any hate or questions.”
Bellino went on to say that she initially put off posting his coming out announcement but changed her tune after her followers continued to misgender him.
“I cannot imagine the strength and courage it took for my baby to do this, but I’m extremely proud of him, and I want everyone to understand that love doesn’t change in these situations. It’s unconditional love,” she continued.
“Miles came out as a transgender boy to me over 16 months ago. He hid it from everyone else for a while, but eventually, he got to where we are right now. TO HIS FREEDOM!
“My son has now flourished!! My son now smiles naturally for the first time in years! My son now loves the clothes he wears. My son can breathe knowing he can be his true self.”

Towards the end of her supportive post, the mom of five warned her followers that hateful comments would be deleted and anti-trans followers would get blocked.
“Let’s bring peace and happiness and unity from this. We are all human and we are ALL equal. I am 100% fully supportive of my son. I hope you will be, too,” she added.
In response to the heartwarming revelation, fans and Bellino’s reality TV peers flocked to her comment section with messages of support.
One fan wrote: “Love and support is all he needs! Family support is the utmost importance. Thank you for sharing and supporting!”
Real Housewives star Heather Dubrow echoed similar sentiments, writing: “So brave and amazing – we love you both.”
On 28 October, the reality TV star issued a follow-up statement to E! News expressing her gratitude for the outpouring messages of support.
“Thank you for all of the love and support. Miles and our family are overwhelmed by the amount of love from everyone,” she told the news outlet.
“We are enjoying our time together as a family and loving this new freedom.”
