West End's The Truth is a smart, fast-moving farce full of surprises – review
If you’re looking for an evening of easy entertainment, The Truth is a good shout.
If you’re looking for an evening of easy entertainment, The Truth is a good shout.
We weren’t familiar with The Truth before we rocked up at The Apollo Theatre recently to check it out. We have previously seen some shows by French playwright Florian Zeller – we enjoyed his play The Son back in 2019, which was subsequently adapted into a 2022 film of the same name, starring Hugh Jackman – so we thought we’d take the opportunity to see what it was all about. Lindsay Posner directs a quartet of well-known actors: Stephen Mangan, Ardal O’Hanlon, Sarah Hadland and Janie Dee take us through this daft and somewhat improbable tale over the course of 90 minutes.
