But among all the drama, one of our favourite storylines has been the unexpected bromance between Islanders Zach and Bryce.

If you've perused X/Twitter over the past few weeks, you’ve probably come across all of the viral memes documenting their delightfully unhinged relationship. Whether it’s Bryce asking for a "girth check", Zach comparing his package to a "snake", their deep-stretch routines or their tendency to snuggle between the sheets, their adorable bond has earned them a place in the reality TV bromance hall of fame.

Since Love Island has historically catered to heterosexual Islanders – bar Katie Salmon and Sophie Gradon from Love Island UK season two – it’s been refreshing to watch two men share such a close, affectionate connection. Their dynamic is warm, playful and, at times, so tender that it could easily be mistaken for a love story, making it one of the season’s most unexpectedly heartwarming highlights.

Frankie Grande and Zach Rance memorably starred on the 16th season of Big Brother USA. During their first week in the house, the duo formed an immediate connection and even promised to make the final two together. As the competition progressed, they were dubbed “Zankie” for their shared gameplay and physical displays of affection, from their cheeky banter and heart-to-hearts that, according to viewers, toed the line between platonic and romantic.
