The Misanthrope is a delightfully dark revival at the National Theatre – review
Although The Misanthrope raises many valid points, it addresses some of them more successfully than others.
It’s a very busy time for new show openings – we’ve already been to The National Theatre this week to catch the sublime new musical adaptation of iconic queer film Pride at the Dorfman (the smallest of the National’s three theatres) and we’ve now been to check out The Misanthrope at the Lyttelton, the middle of the three. War Horse is currently playing in their biggest space, the Olivier; we reviewed that show a couple of weeks ago.
