It’s not often that a play completely catches us off guard, but The Authenticator, which opened last week at the National Theatre, did exactly that. Playing in the Dorfman - the smallest of the three spaces in the National Theatre complex - it’s a new work by playwright by Winsome Pinnock. It explores identity and asks some complex questions about the legacy of slavery.
