The original playwright of The Rocky Horror Show, Richard O'Brien, has shared a heartwarming tribute to the late Tim Curry.

On 26 August, the legendary actor best known for his iconic portrayal of Dr Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show sadly died at age 80.

TMZ first broke the news, reporting that Curry died late Tuesday at his home in Los Angeles. His manager later confirmed the news to CBS, while the LAPD told PEOPLE that officers "responded to a call for service on Aug. 25 at 11:20 p.m. and completed a death investigation for a male in his 80s" at a home in North Hollywood.

Since the heartbreaking news broke, many of Curry's fans and industry peers have taken to social media to share condolences and tributes, including O'Brien.
