We’re sure many readers will be familiar with hit 2014 film Pride, which tells the remarkable true story of queer activist group Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners, during a time in which both communities were being demonised by the Thatcher government and the right-wing press. This new stage adaptation reunites the film’s screenwriter Stephen Beresford (who is responsible for book and lyrics here) and director Matthew Warchus (who returns on directing duties). The musical has just opened at the National Theatre in London, following a stint earlier this year at the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff.
