In 2022, AMC revitalised Anne Rice's beloved The Vampire Chronicles with a brand-new adaptation of Interview with the Vampire, starring Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac and Sam Reid as Lestat de Lioncourt. While it isn't the franchise's first live-action outing, many fans would argue it's the strongest yet, thanks to its bold reimagining of the source material and refreshed character backstories. The series' willingness to fully embrace the queer subtext of Rice's novels – particularly the romance between Louis and Lestat – has also helped cement its status as a fan favourite.

On 7 June, the story continues with the release of season three, The Vampire Lestat. Adapted from Rice's novel of the same name, the new chapter sees Lestat step into his rockstar era and seize control of the narrative after two seasons spent largely through Louis' perspective.

The official synopsis reads: "In the new rock and roll-centric season, the Vampire Lestat goes on an electric multi-city tour while being haunted by 'muses' from his wild and rebellious past. As his band's popularity and star power rise, so does Lestat's influence over vampires and humans alike, leaving others to contend with Lestat's power in the face of the Great Conversion and an unnatural surge in the vampire population."

Judging by the trailers and sneak peeks released so far, The Vampire Lestat is poised to be the series' bloodiest, wildest and sexiest season yet.
