“When my name and face are on something, I want to be able to stand behind all of it, fully."
Derek Chadwick has announced his departure from Goose, the gay dating app he co-founded to rival the likes of Grindr and Scruff.
The model and actor launched the app alongside former BeReal growth and community manager David Aliagas in June, positioning Goose as an alternative to the algorithm-driven dating experience offered by established platforms.
According to a press release, the app aimed to challenge “all expectations on what online dating has come to look like for modern gay men” through its anti-algorithm, label-free approach: "Goose is a dating app for guys who'd rather meet than match. It blends dating, social life, and community into one living experience. Discover guys through shared places, interests, friends, and moments happening around you."
