Careers
Our mission is to advance a world where LGBTQ+ people thrive. GAY TIMES has been a vital resource to LGBTQ+ people around the world for the past five decades. We are the most followed LGBTQ+ content brand in the world and won both Brand of the Year and Editorial Team of the Year in 2022. Now we are continuing with ambitious global growth plans.
GAY TIMES is made up of:
- GAY TIMES – our namesake content brand, with news coverage, magazine features, cover stories, podcasts, video interviews, and social editorial.
- GTX – our creative agency, which specialises in industry-leading strategy, brand content and production that connects brands with LGBTQ+ and global audiences.
- Amplifund – our international charity partnership that amplifies queer voices.
We hire journalists, creatives, producers, account managers and more!
So if you love the brand and want to make your mark at the forefront of queer culture, we want to hear from you. Whether you are looking for an in-house or freelance role, send us your details and what you are interested in doing at workwithus@gaytimes.co.uk
What it’s like to work here
You’ll get to work in a fun team in a start-up like environment where there is trust and autonomy, with world-renowned talent and amazing brands. While making the world better for LGBTQ+ people!
Our mission is all about inclusion, and we want to reflect the same internally. We are committed to creating an environment where diverse identities, backgrounds and experiences are valued and there is support and respect for individual differences and needs. So that everyone can thrive as their unique selves.
This means for example that we’re open to you working flexibly in the way that gets the best from you. We offer flexible bank holidays and LGBTQ+ friendly enhanced Family Leave, and proper training on diversity and inclusion. Our managers are supportive and care about your wellbeing and development.
We celebrate our achievements through Town Hall meetings and organise different kinds of free social events every month. Not to mention our legendary away-days in the Summer and year end and GT Honours parties! These are opportunities to relax and connect as a team, and you take part how and when you want to.
Our Values
Bridge-building
The LGBTQ+ community is our source of pride and inspiration, and our reason for being. We build infrastructure that connects all the diverse LGBTQ+ groups and people, our allies, and society at large, to benefit the community we serve.
Integrity
We are uncompromising when it comes to advancing LGBTQ+ rights. We build trust with our audience, each other and our clients by having honest conversations, being open listening, different opinions and healthy conflict.
Unity in Diversity
We work together to ensure that GT’s mission and objectives are our first priority. We tap into our unique and diverse skills, experiences and backgrounds to join up to solve problems. We are unified but not uniform!
Progressiveness
Our mission is an inherently progressive one, and we take this approach across all our work. We progress conversations and advocacy around LGBTQ+ rights and representation through all the work we do and the stories we tell.
Embracing Challenges
The safest route is not always the best, so we bravely try out new things and take calculated risks. We lean into challenges and even the discomfort that comes with venturing into the unfamiliar and connecting with people different to ourselves.
