Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts and Evan Peters are back as some of their most iconic American Horror Story characters in a long-awaited first look at season 13.

Published by Vogue on 12 August, the season will bring together some of the horror anthology’s most memorable baddies, according to series creator Ryan Murphy.

He told the publication: “I didn’t want to just do a Coven reboot. Everybody thinks that’s what it is; it’s not. I was very interested in the greatest villains we’ve done.

And I felt that they only would come together if we had a new story anchored by a new person. That person is Joey Pollari.”

Lange is set to return as all four of her acclaimed characters: Constance Langdon (Murder House), Sister Jude Martin (Asylum), Fiona Goode (Coven) and Elsa Mars (Freak Show), while Murphy confirmed that Paulson will reprise six roles and Peters five.
