The verdant hills of home are always awe-inspiring to me. So the idea of being whisked away to the iconic Laura Ashley mansion – now owned by Charlotte Church – in the heart of the Welsh countryside to explore queerness was an easy, ‘Yes, please – where do I sign up?’

The venue is especially enchanting, thanks to the multitude of celebrity endorsements and quiet affluence captured in the photography. The arrival doesn't disappoint. My stress melts away faster than my phone signal as picturesque, tumbling waterfalls and rolling mossy knolls appear, with red kites playing in the valley's updrafts. I let out a long and much-needed exhale.
